you take the wheel

There was nothing left in this world; ever since that incident.

"This used to be hers..." The words she recalled coming from him were wistful, his eyes glazing into the distance in a trance. The world around them was destroyed, wreckage and debris surrounded every single part of land they set their eyes on. Buildings were broken and some still collapsing, and yet it had a sense of calmness around it; like an aftermath of a storm.

"And now..." He slowly adjusted his stare towards her, his eyes cold and baring no emotion. "It's yours now."

A sense of desolation crashed onto her like an ocean wave, and she couldn't help but feel the corner of her lips tug into a derided smile. She swallowed and laughed ruefully, shaking her head in defeat. "No, Brothie. You're wrong."

And yet to her dismay, his expression didn't change, as if her words didn't register into his system. Ruybee lowered her gaze and turned her back on him.

"You don't care-- you never cared. You're just like everyone else in this sickening program. You don't have emotions."

The silence was painful. She stumbled forward, making her way around the substantial amount of rubbish on the ground. It was no use transforming - and he knew that.

"Hurry up, you have a mission to finish." His monotone voice called out, to which she idly ignored.

She was done taking orders from him.
